I am now officially done with school! Things have been crazy. I've been going at 110mph, along with all my buddies, trying to get everything finished before the end. As a result, I now have 23 copies of my reel ready for various distribution.
I've only been out of school one day and I'm already getting a bit stir-crazy. I posted a few weeks ago about being able to while away my off days doing next to nothing and feeling fine about it. But now I realize that was probably because I knew I had to go back to school in a few days. Now, I'm not sure when the next thing will come along, so I'm feeling antsy. Its probably also because I'd been working at the lab 12 hours a day, every single day for the past few months, and now that I'm free, I've still got the instinct that makes me wanna go back. It must be "lab withdrawl"=)
I'm happy I finished off my college career with a bang. Its been an awsome experience. Looking back at the 4 years, a whole hell of a lot has happened, and I've changed quite a bit. Its great to be able to look back at my previous entries and be able to see that. I'm also proud of what I've accomplished, and I think my reel reflects where I'm at with animation now. I've got a few things in the school's spring show and I'm waiting on some possibly AWSOME news, that MAY or MAY NOT happen. I've conciously been trying not to get myself too excited because at this point it could go either way.(fingers crossed)
Its a good time for the industry right now, which is great news for animators. I can see things being oversaturated in the next 3 years, but that may also give way to more diversity in animated films, which would be awsome. I'm looking forward to joining the ranks soon...
Crap, I forgot to pick up graduation tickets. Something I'd better do today. Also, I haven't squared away everything with the financial aid office yet, which I should probably do. And finally, I had a whole bunch of paintings and paint supplies from last semester in my locker that I forgot to pick up, and the last day for pickup was last saturday. I'm wondering if I might be able to pick those up today.
