I had a good time at GDC today. First off, it was great to get out of the city, and feel warm for once. We drove around some of the suburbs of San Jose and it was really picturesque. A gentle breeze, and a nice, warm, sunny day.

I have a whole bunch of somewhat useless junk that I've collected from the convention. I hope someday soon I'll have time to sort it all out and read some of the magazines and handouts. It looks like a lot of people are looking for animators, at least in the game industry, which is good for animators all around.

I almost won a fat new graphics card from nvidia! Damnit, I was robbed.=) There was a whole 20 minute drawing contest, and at the end the crowd votes for it by way of applause. When it came to me, I think my buddies were a bit too enthusiastic that it seemed obvious they knew me.=) I don't think that went over too well with the dude running the contest. So it went down to a judges' huddle to pick, and I think that guy chose the other guy. Bastard! I could've had a screaming new video card, of which costs upwards of 800-1700 dollars. For crikes' sake man. I would've built a computer around that piece of hardware. But hell, I got a cool t-shirt out of the deal, and the feeling of "being close".

J and I are headed back there tomorrow for a conference on animation and storytelling, of which I believe one of the presenters was my Pixar teacher from last semester.=) That should be cool. Then its back to the lab, cuz I'm all inspired and everything.

Oh, and btw, after tomorrow, I'll have missed two classes for GDC. But somehow, I think they'll understand. Which reminds me, I need to e-mail them my excuse.

Trust me, I know these past few posts suck, but I'm mostly in "recording events" mode, as opposed to insight.

Going tomorrow means waking up at the ungodly hour of 6:10am. That means less than 3 hours of sleep tonight, added to the 4 and a half hours from yesterday and I'll have been cruising on 7 hours of sleep over two days. Fun. Night.

Heh, Jerome's got a drunken post. He puts mine to shame, how coherent he is. It ain't right.=)

I've been cooking late night lately. I know my landlord asked us not to run the sinks, or take showers late, but I guess I was kind of testing how far was too far. I think I found out today, because after finishing up washing my plates, I heard a really loud banging from downstairs. At first I was just shocked, like, what the fuck is the deal? Then I got pissed off. I mean, if you're going to ask something of me, then come correct. Do it in a civil manner, and I'll probably take you into consideration, and try to accomodate you. You bang on the walls, or the floor out of anger or whatever it was, and I just get pissed. You expect me to respond to that in a positive way? That fool is just lucky I was finishing up washing my dishes, or I would've just continued with my business. Honestly, how are you going to tell someone after they move in "would you please not take showers late or run the sinks late, the water pump is really loud downstairs." I pay a nice chunk of change to live where I do, and them not bringing this matter up before we moved in is wrong. We tried to accomodate them by not taking showers late. But not running the sinks? Oh, here's me, and here's my big middle finger, and here's a bigger "FUCK YOU". That asshole(I refer to the guy, because the grandma is pretty old, and I don't think she could bang that hard) is pushing my buttons. Well check this punk, the lease is signed for one year. You try and kick us out, you cough up big bucks, because "running the sinks late night" is not legal grounds for a landlord to kick out a tenant. Suck my big toe.

Now that I got that off my chest...I'm going to GDC tomorrow.=) The guys and I are heading down there. I'm really just along for the ride, because I've got a free ticket, and I'm curious about how it is. I'll update how that goes soon.

I saw this drunkard on the muni today on the way home around 12:30. He was loud, obnoxious, and was making an ass of himself...and I thought..."okay, I am definately not going to be drinking heavily anytime soon." Because if I look anything like that guy (well, I'm not quite as bad...I know, because, well...there's footage)... I always feel like I've acted like an ass the morning afterwards anyways. And I always seem to find myself puffing on a ciggy when I expressly told myself I wouldn't smoke anymore, if it was always only while I drank. So I think I'll lighten up on the old friend alkyhol. And work on maintaining when I do drink.=)

Recently I've noticed my "positivity" getting obscured. I suppose its been happening slowly, so I haven't been totally aware, but its there. I'm tempted to say that some of my friends have had that effect on me. I'll try working it back in consciously, because I know its still there. And I always felt better about msyelf in that positive frame of mind anyways.

Wow, here we are...in the morning! Crazy eh?=) Yeah, I like to switch it up. I'm just having breakfast, listening to tunes, and watching Fresh Prince at the moment. Heading to school soon, to catch the 1:30 bump time. I've got the big "P" class tonight, and thats always something to look forward to.

I had my first peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a very, very long time yesterday. Notice I said "jelly", and not fruit, or preserves, cuz I do it oldschool honey.=) I thought I may be able to save a little dough by making a snack at home and bringing it to school. Buying meals outside gets to be expensive really fast. And the messed up thing is that it sneaks up on ya, because a few bucks here and there throughout the day doesn't seem like much at first, until you tally it up at the end of the day.

Okay, gonna finish up my cinnamon crunch crispex and clusters cereal, taking a shower, and heading to school. Have a good one.

We all went out to the Thirsty Bear yesterday night, and it was hoppin'.

I don't think I'm going to drink heavily for awhile. Its kind of funny, the day after we all go out, I see some of the same people in the lab and we've all got that kinda coked out look. Everything is low energy, slow and chill. I for one always come in the most comfortable stuff "the day after". Thats hooded sweatshirts, maybe a hat, relaxed pants, and my comfy running shoes.

Things with blocking out the new shot are going along at a good pace, and I think I'll make it happen by class Tuesday.

Its 4am, I'm going to bed. I'll try do a decent post sometime soon.=) As for now, g'nite.
