I had lunch with A today...it was nice. I met her at the Starbucks on New Montgomery, not recognizing her at first because her back was turned to me, and she had a cute new hat on. We grabbed some rolls at Go-Go Sushi and sat on the grass at the park over by Metreon. The weather was perfect...sunny, but cloudy enough to offer occasional breaks of shade. So there we sat, chopsticks in hand, with our sushi rolls splayed out before us, just talking about whatever...interjected by short moments of silence that happens naturally between friends.

I'll miss these meals together when she moves back to Japan in mid-August. She suggested I should come and visit and I plan to someday down the road. I've always wanted to go there.

Class tonight was encouraging. The instructor had some positive things to say about my animation. I really learned a lot in this class so far. There is a method to the madness. Points that I've read about in books and ways of working that were briefly touched upon in other classes were driven home in this class. To go in any further would mean alienating just about all of you out there....but what the hey?=)

The importance of a good sillouette are talked about...and the big thing for me was that animation is really about poses. Its the heart of what the good stuff is. Strong, telling poses. Animation with really strong poses but with a minimum of inbetweens can still deliver. Case in point: Ren and Stimpy. I mean, we watched a clip from the Space Madness episode and I nearly busted a gut! It was hilarious...and if you've seen that cartoon, its almost like slide-show the way that thing is animated. But it delivers. So much so, I couldn't stop thinking about how much I love that cartoon...I've been downloading all the music, and finally broke down and ordered a 3 episode tape from Amazon entitled "The Classics".=) When I watched it as a kid, I laughed up a storm...it had that quirky sense of humor thats right up my alley. Its great to revisit it and find such an inspiration.

My feet are cold.

I think I'm going to buy a fat steak tomorrow...and cook it up the way I likes it. Nothing like a fat, juicy, bloody rare steak to grease a man's joints.

Oh, if you didn't notice, the guestbook doesn't work, so if you've got something to say, just shoot me an e-mail.

Ger is probably getting her luggage right now in Europe somewhere, after that 15 hour flight. How I envy her...

My mind is wandering...I'd better get to bed, its 4am right now and just about that time. mmmmmh....steak....
