I just got through watching "Life As a House". That was a great movie...really. You may have heard of it, and if you wrote it off as some heavy "ball your eyes out" "English Patient" type of movie, its surprisingly not. Actually, its really hilarious in some parts, but if I had to catagorize it...its a "feel good" movie. I was cracking up at some scenes, and how "real" they are.=)

Oh yeah, and I watched "Training Day" today too...man, another really great movie...completely different, but really well done. I finally got around to watching "Harry Potter" too...so man, thats 3 for 3. I'm batting 100 so far.=) Go watch 'em.

As for me, I am completely in vacation mode. Last tuesday, I made a week's worth of food, and put it through a blender and poured it into different containers, labelled them by day, and stuck a straw in each one. I've only gotten out of this chair to go to the bathroom and I'm wearing the same bath robe I was a week ago...and the same underwear for that matter. I've been rationing my food stores, and been sipping sustinence out my second to last batch. That means at this rate, by Saturday I'll actually have to go make more food "shakes" to last me another week(no longer, because I've found out that even cooked meat goes bad after any longer than that).

kidding=)

Actually, I'm keeping relatively busy. Well, "busy" isn't perhaps the right word. Howabout I say "productive". Yesterday, I went downtown to check out the school's Spring Show for the second time. The first time I went was on opening night, and if you've ever been to a show on opening night, its really packed, and you can really only hope to get a glimpse at all the works of art. This time around, I planned it out the day before, and I actually spent a few hours wandering around and taking it all in. I had my tunes flowing in my ears the whole time...some new, mellow stuff that I'm really diggin' right now...and I've gotta say, it was really very, very relaxing. As well as inspiring. It was somewhat empty, save for a few curious folk, and some students I recognized. I think I'll have to make it back at least one more time to really take it all in before it closes on June 8th.

I'm going back home soon.=) I'm pretty excited..I've been away for so long...really, the longest I've been without so much as a visit. I miss the smells and feel of it...because it does have a smell and feel. Even a taste. Its hard to explain...but everywhere has it. Its just one of those things that you can't explain in words really. It just needs to be experienced....like music...or film. And after being away for so long, I'll be relishing everything...I can see myself taking a midnight stroll down to the local Vons center...maybe walk by my old highschool on my way to my old house. I should think I'll feel wierd not being able to go inside...(even though I still have my key=). I want to document the city to some extent...something to take back with me so I can revisit some of those sights, tastes and sounds when I'm feeling lonely. I want to paint some of the places I grew up around...and those pictures will help me.

Its a strange coincidence, but whenever I go back for a visit, I'll run into someone from my past that I hadn't spoken to in a long time. and thats another thing that going "home" affords. There will always be the "hometown crowd". The people from highschool, middle school, even gradeschool, that stayed in the area. "Hey, aren't you a friend of..." "Dude, I haven't seen you forever man...what are you up to now?" "Damn woman, you're lookin' fine as ever..." heh...kidding.=)

I have to admit I haven't really talked to the guys back home in awhile and I'm out of touch with whats going on with them. I'm looking forward to being able to spend some time with 'em. Maybe kick back a few and catch up. 4 days is really too short, but ya take what you can get, hm?

I also have another goal that I'm determined to get done. I want to go to the beach.=) Its really been too damn long...no one should be away from the ocean this long. Sure, I live in San Francisco, but its not the same. So I'll find a way. Seeing as how I don't have a ride, I'm going to have to cajole one of my buddies into it.=)

So thats the plan...as for tomorrow, I think W gets back from NY...and he promised to take us all out to dinner...which...is kinda strange because he's the one who graduated=) But who am I to turn down a free meal...heh. Nite out there.
