So I'm workin' on my carne asada fries....yep...I went out at 3 in the morn' to get myself some carne asada fries...I hopped in the car, sat down on the freezing seat, backed out of the driveway, drove all the way to Poway, went through the drive through, got my carne asada fries, drove all the way back home, parked, got out of the car, shut the door as quietly as I could, made my way up to my dark, unlit front door, fumbled with my keys, got the door open, slipped inside, took off my shoes, washed my hands, changed, sat down at the computer, and started to work on my carne asada fries...ALL....because I had a craving. Man...imagine if I were ever pregnant!
"Baby, I love you..." "I love you too..." ".....could you go out to the store and get something for me?" "but its 3 in the morning and raining outside!" "...please? I just want some carne asada fries...some cottage cheese...some horchata...a tin of sardines, and a can of pineapples...thats all.." "What?!"
...yeah, I'd be the worst pregnant person...

Dan: heh...man, I don't even wanna talk about settling down...its like planning TOO much...at least for me Nelz: haha... Nelz: dude... i'm a girl.. Dan: and? Nelz: girls have their whole freakin wedding planned out when they're like 5 Dan: I think the "I'm a girl" explaination can only be used on a few things.. Nelz: this is one of them Nelz: most girls think about their future Dan: y'think? hmm Nelz: what kind of house they want Dan: true...but how far? Nelz: I KNOW Nelz: we think all the way to the marriage part Nelz: that's about it i think Nelz: wait no Dan: haha...so when do you "plan" to get married? Nelz: to kids part Nelz: that's about it Nelz: around 27 Nelz: kids by 30 Nelz: an older boy than a girl Nelz: not sure on the names yet.. but definitly going to be either meaningful or really cool sounding.. haha Nelz: i like the suburbs like where we live Nelz: yeah Dan: haha... Nelz: gonna have a semi-big wedding Nelz: already know who some of my bride's maids will be Nelz: and i know the color of my wedding Nelz: wedding in the spring Nelz: or summer Dan: Okay...you got me...its a girl thing=) Nelz: i even know what i want my wedding dress to look like Nelz: haha Nelz: think of it this way.. my aunt just had a baby a couple months ago Nelz: my girl cousin's and i's first thought was.... yeah, we're gonna have a ring bearer for our weddings.. cuz it's a boy Nelz: funny huh Dan: haha...omg Nelz: and you didn't know? Dan: keep your planning to yourself! Don't involve innocent kids Nelz: haha... Nelz: it's gonna be dope
Haha....chics. I mean...it IS a chic thing...guys? Planning? Shoot...I plan for what my meal will be that evening...I plan weekends out...and if its something big, I plan perhaps a month in advance....but dude...my wedding, when, where, color scheme, bridesmaids, and a freakin' ring bearer?? Haha...thats definately a chic thing.
So today, "she" called...I'd been meaning to call her the past couple nights, but I hadn't found the time to be home...we talked, and it turns out she had to go out to the mall to get a present for her sis, and I'm a gift behind it seems...for my bro. So we worked out things, and after cleaning the bathroom, setting up our new cordless/answering machine, and washing the dishes, we were finally on our way to Fashion Valley.
What you guys should know about "she" is that she's definately a girly-girl...heh...so like, all things "girl", she's down with. SooOo...who would've guessed...our first stop....BATH AND BODY WORKS...heh...aiy. "Dude, I'm lost in places like this..." "Its okay.*smile*" "Y'kno why? Cuz people who work at places like this...they see me, a guy...a lone guy...walking into what is basically a chic store...they think, "naive...guy looking for gift for girl....fresh meat" Either that, or "he's gay." They can basically have their way with me."
Heh...well, its true. But I fared alrite...and even learned a thing or two about lip gloss and eye liner and....and I'm gonna shut up now...but yeah...we made our way over to J.Crew and just worked a few of the stores in the mall...I was lookin' for a pair of pants for my bro...but not just any pair...I kinda wanted to get him something "against his style" somewhat...y'kno, cuz obviously he's a workin' man...he needs pants, he gets a pair of pants...but what I can do for him, is get him a pair of pants flexin' a style that I dig, but he might not exactly be hip to...YET...that way, I can introduce him to stuff he may not neccessarily be exposed to otherwise. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything yet...but I'm off to the mall tomorro morning to have another gander before he comes home.
When I got home around 7pm, my dad wasn't home from the interview yet...knowing him, he probably went out to chill with some of his friends...haha...damn, did I just say my dad was "chillin'"? It just sounded wierd...anywayz, I whipped myself up something to eat...my made me a fruit shake and steamed me some green beans and I was did my thing....afterwards, I assumed the position on the couch, and proceeded to doze off....
I guess the plans for tonite fell through...Jerome called later ALL BUZZED, that drunkard=), and was tellin' me to call Jeremy and to get us both out of the house and to meet up with him. After a few phone calls, it seemed that nothing was gonna go down...just then, my pops walked in...I was still groggy from the nap....or...my "rest"...yeah..."nap" sounds too wussy.
I had some good convo with my dad over some tea...it was good times....and here I am...contemplating getting some carne asada fries...haha...I'm a junkie...I kno this...I've accepted it...the next step...is not to try and "cure" it...nono....the next step, is to EMBRACE it...yes...THAT........is what I have convinced myself=)
BEFORE I go...I must announce to all you guys...that there is now a GBM crew...nono, we don't race, or ride around on motorcycles....or even run around buck nekkid with a jar of peanut butter...nah..its a string of webpages..from the guys that you read about on these pages.=) I don't kno if they'll mind me giving out the urls so premeturely, but I think each one of them already has some good reading...soo, here's a run-down:
Ryan.gbm-net.com :He's updating at a nice steady pace...read about his escapades with oatmeal...and find out his views on Brand Name Cereal vs. The Clear Bag Apple-O's type stuff.
Chis.gbm-net.com :Michael Jackson....became the King of Pop....is musical genius...ended the Cold War? Its explained in complete clarity how one comes to such a conclusion...including a symbolic breakdown of the video "Beat It", and much more...=)
Jeremy.gbm-net.com :Still maintaining with his updates...the OG UCSD kid tells about his daily thang...plus, he's the man with the pictures...=)
Jerome.gbm-net.com :He kinda surprised me with his blogs recently...they've been very interesting...so if you've visited in the past, stop by again...he's got a handle on his philosophies...and is willing to share...what more is there to say?
So yeah, I think most of our pages are still in the "baby stages"...but they're definately worth a gander=)

What up what up whatup....man, its gettin' tough to keep up with these daily blogs...I kno, I kno, I slipped yesterday...heh...just like Ger says, when I get back up to SF you'll all be gettin' some quality blogs....cuz I'll have less to do=)
Well, yesterday I basically just went out to bowlin' and dinner with Jerome, Nelz, Lisa and Mai....its funny bowling with chics...haha...each one's got this wierd style...like they may shuffle up to the lane, and sheepishly toss their ball down the lane...or they may stomp up there, do what looks like a ballet move, and let loose the ball...heh...its funny. But sshhh...I didn't say anything=P It was good hangin' with them though...always fun.
Today I finally got to hang with Ger...I went to her physics class with her...man, she's got some cute girls in her class...I don't care what some people say, there ARE cute girls at UCSD...I'm a livin' witness=P But *ahem*...yes...the class was basically taught by a TA...and....and I can understand all the people who just up and left, or fell asleep in class...I saw them all over the lecture hall. Also, I was afraid my stomach was gonna start growling at any moment...haha...yeah, that would've been cool huh? NO! Okay...it wouldn't have been cool..it would've been mad embarrassing. It sucks to be in class on an empty stomach...its like, you can FEEL the growl comming...you can feel those stomach acids just goin' nuts in there....you can feel the tension building...and you can't do a DAMN thing. You can't very well bite a chunk off your arm or anything...nah, you've got to sit there....and hope...and tighten those stomach muscles when you feel the growl commin'...and hope some more...and...well, blame it on the person next to you if it does let itself out.
Afterwards, we went to Tower Records so Ger could pick up Musiq's album...She's gonna burn me a copy of that and Jazzmatazz...sweet lil' Geri=) Then we went to Kieth's to eat...its the spot that you guys have probably read about on Ger's page. Its a Denny style place, but with a different...dare I say, elderly vibe...yeah, as in old folks...but hey, their omlets are kick ass...=) Conversation ranged from bisexuality to why Shamu(or whatever other incarnation of the great Shamu) should be released from "incarceration". heh...yeah, we'll talk about that later Ger.
We then headed over to her place and chilled....watched Me, Myself and Irene...haha...I STILL say that was a real boob he was breast feeding from...but...what do YOU guys think? And if you haven't seen it...I bet you want to now...rah?=) heh...but it was funny...I laughed outloud more than a few times.
Oh yah, my dad's home today...I just found out this evening while I was talking with my mom...but he's here today for an interview tomorro. Yep, a job interview...there's a possibility he may more back down to SD...but, I guess we'll see how it goes. My bro comes down on Saturday for his bday...and shiat, I still haven't gotten him anything...what to get...what to get....

I just watched a special on Blink 182 on MTv awhile ago...they were holding a concert in their/my hometown of San Diego, and through the program, they went around to all their old haunts...just driving around SD....it was so cool sayin', "whoa, I've been there....wow, thats cool, I used to drive up and down that street everyday!" heh...well, its kinda wierd how some tv program on mtv showing my hometown made me realize just how much I miss the little things about this place...I mean, I've been here for 2 and a half weeks now, and I don't really think its hit me till tonite how much I dig SD.=) All the little stuff that San Diegans have in common...just by livin' here...the great...the awsome weather, the comparatively good driving conditions, the inexplicable love for Meixican food...c'mon!=P I love this place...
After the programs ended around 1...I decided to make a little food run...and take a nice cruise in the process...I made my way out of the garage and turned on the radio....it turns out they replay Jeff and Jer morning shows on 100.7 late at night....even brought back more memories...I used to listen to these guys on my way to school when I was in middle school and highschool...and later on, in the car on my way to work. I cruised down to the neighborhood Vons...which I just found out, closes at 1...SOoOo...I drove to the Mira Mesa Ralphs...just takin' it easy...lookin' around...I've made the drive a hundred times or more...I used to make late night food runs like this all the time=)
The grocery list went something like this: cottage cheese(haha...I love this stuff! My mom got me hip to it awhile back...) milk(this is such an important thing to a healthy diet, strong bones....and its the missing ingrediant to those boxes of instant macaroni and cheese I've got in the cupboard at home!) 1 box of Peanut Butter Captain Crunch Cereal(I don't kno man...I just had this jones for PB Cap'n Crunch dude...all day...unexplainable...I must've seen a commercial or something...geez) 2 cans of pasta sauce(....cuz.....we've got pasta at home.....and no sauce...)
After paying, I drove over to the Alberto's on Mira Mesa Blvd...got me some carne asada chips...(I had to man...mmmmh...great) with the works...guacamole sauce, sour creme, hot sauce...did I mention SD got great mexican joints? Hot damN!
Well, as we speak...I'm workin' on these carne asada chips....man, my mom's gonna be smellin' grease, beef, and guacamole when she uses the computer tomorro morning=)
Anywayz...I wanna go out! I've been holed up at home for the past 2 days doin' home stuff...gettin' better...y'kno...but now I'm ready to go out! and...and its 2:35am...and theres no where to go....and...everyone's asleep....but...oh....tomorro! I've got to get out! I guess I'll just have to sleep early and make the most of the day. Thats it folks...toodles...I'mma keep workin' on these chips.

Hey guys...I dunno how it became 4 in the morn' so quick, but today was pretty leisure...I've still got the cough, and my ears are still plugged up...but other than that, todays been pretty good to me. I started on that drawing, caught up on a few things....for one, reading them online journals I frequent=) Its good to get back into that voyeuristic mode again...ha...I'd do more reading, but then, thats whats kept me up this late to begin with...and I really don't want to wake up past noon for the rest of my vacation...I've got to get that sleep schedule back on track to at least something before 11:30am. Sooo, more tomorro, sleep now, wake early.....er.

Well, I just stepped out of a nice, long, warm, shower session...I just stood there for awhile, with the soothing water running over, thinkin' about all the stuff thats happened the past 2 days and singin' a tune thats been stuck in my head the whole time. I look foward to slowin' things down tomorrow and taking it easy, resting up, gettin' well...some "me time", y'kno. My break so far has been pretty hectic...with things to do, people to see...etc. I haven't really been keeping up on my reading of my usual journals I visit, let alone really updating my page with the frequency I'd like to...but tomorro will be devoted to things like that...=) Along with getting that whole Winnie the Pooh concept drawing done for my yet to be born nephew's bedroom wall...I've been putting that one off for way too long.
Snowboarding yesterday was grand...we all had lots of fun, great laughs, and one...one of THE worst hotdogs I think I've ever had. It wasn't really the hotdog's fault...it was more the bun...the bun was something approaching the taste of what I imagine plastic to taste like. Hell yeah, it was that bad...but hey, no one goes to Big Bear for the food. The conversation around the lunch table ranged from me trying to convince the girls that girls COULD pee standing up(Sarin, this is all your fault!) to stories from the slopes. The three newbies did pretty well...Ryan and Jeremy(two of my GBM compatriots/brothas from another mutha) in particular...I give you guys props for gettin' the hang of things quicklike and for the energy to keep on goin'...I wasn't as tired as I was last time I went snowboarding at Tahoe...nor was I half as bruised up...last time, my ass was lookin'....well, I couldn't work up the courage(nor flexibility) to take a look at my own ass, but it felt like hell. This time around, I came out pretty well...but the thing that slowed me down and eventually stopped me was my toes...man, my toes were all narly, shoved in those little boots...damn did they hurt...my poor lil' piggies. My voice was also takin' it pretty badly...in the words of the Mizark, "Dude, you sound like John trying to impersonate a husky old black dude..." Well put, friend. I had great fun though...and even little Lisa, who was the first to "bench-it" said she'd come back.
The ride home was good...I was out cold for about 45-an hour of it..but what I remember was good times. Ryan and Jeremy in the front seat chattin' it up...Jerome and I in the back with Jerome's blanket and snacks circulating around the car...all of us singin' along to Boyz II Men tunes...then groovin' to some BEP...celly phones goin' off now and then in preparation of the night's festivities.
We all stopped off at Nel's house...moved out stuff to our respective cars with plans for the guys to all meet up at Jerome's soon afterwards.
I'm just listening to a few Lea Salonga songs I just downloaded...and I love her voice, her understated style...and these songs kinda get to me. They're sweet...sometimes bittersweet..Wierd...I realize what all my Filipino friends have been tellin' me about all these many years...haha...fellaz, I've seen the light. I'm a believer=)
After a shower and few phone calls...a bit of waiting around and "wierd site searching" with the guys at Jerome's house...everyone met up at Albertos...the plan was to get a bunch of Mexican food and bring it to the drink up. So we got our food, ate a bit, and off we went in search of our "seedy motel room". Our search brought us to the Hotel Circle Motel 6 and to other Hotel Circle cheapy places...either problems with security, or availibility plagued us...and by 12am, the suggestion to have it at Jerome's house was pretty much unanimously agreed upon. SOoOOo...we ended up right where we began.
The "alkyhall"...was procured at a liquor shop in Mira Mesa, by Jerome, Jeremy and me. By this time, I was feelin' mad shitty...my ears were all plugged up, and I had this hacking cough...my voice went from "husky black dude" to "fat husky Notorious B.I.G. type black dude" and I had a headache. I was just plain grumpy. We had 70 some odd bux to spend...and we were over by about 10. Here's how the list went: two 12-packs of NewCastle(Jerome's fav), two 4-packs of Guiness(the King of the dark ales....my brother once told me, "dude, its like drinking mud...a meal in a can"), a large bottle of some cheap vodka(damn was this just one bad idea), a bottle of Skky vodka(under my suggestion. I like this stuff...it goes down much smoother than any vodka I've tasted), a package of cups, one package of ice, and 2 shotglasses. When I was walkin' out of that store carrying the box for all of this stuff, I felt like I was carrying gold...and like I was gonna get mugged as I stepped out of the store with 80 dollars worth of alcohol and assorted goods....basically, a "drunkard's kit to the promise land".
We made to Jerome's house by about 12:30 and the festivities began....microwave up that left over Mexican food, crack open a bottle of NewCastle for everyone, rinse out those shot glasses, and have a seat. For Mizark, the youngest, it was his first time having a brew, let alone gettin' buzzed...so that was a joy to watch...basically the classification of each of my bros there goes something like this:
Mizark: He's a "laughy-laughy, smile and laugh" kinda drunk... John: From his own words, "I'm a (mean)bitch when I'm drunk"...but I really didn't see any of that going on...he really didn't drink enough for me to really see. Ryan: Man, it would've been great if he'd kicked back a few with us...but he wasn't feeling too well..so he abstained from this session...he was the "voice of reason/sober dude" at the get-together. Randy/Gieson: These two basically just came to see some drunkards makin' fools of themselves...and spend time with their buds of course=) Jerome: Jerome is the "instigator/Jerry Springer/talker" class drunkard on this particular occasion...kind of like the ring leader...the one who keeps the drinks flowin' and the good times rollin'. Jeremy: Jeremy is the "tryin' hard to maintain even though I kno I'm fucked up" kind of drunk...heh...in fact...I think there's video tape of this somewhere....*whistling*=P Dan: I've been told I'm a happy drunk..."Dang Dan, you sure are happy" But I don't particularly subscribe to this label...and of course all these classifications are subjective=) Chris: Well...Chris is the "reasonable drunk"...really amiable, courteous, and...drunk off his ass...haha. In fact, he got the most plastered out of all of us...and if there was ever to be an example to explain the expression "shitface drunk", it would be Chris...cuz boy, he was hellbent on experiencing his first hangover...and damn, did he experience that hangover from about 3am last night till about....well....about now.=) Hope he feels better...
After a lot of laughs and good times...I think I konked out on the ground at about 4am. I woke up every now and then to sounds of my own hacking cough and grumbling, hurried footsteps to the toilet, a whole lot of yaking, the movie "The Black Mask", sounds of the "Street Fighter 2" movie, small talk when people started to wake up, cookin' in the kitchen, comments on how much the place smelled like yak, and when I finally woke up at 2pm, I had a bad cough, the "big, husky, Notorious B.I.G. type old black dude on his deathbed mumbling his last words" type voice, and a throbbing headache...
One by one, people lingered off home, till it was just me and Jerome chillin' at about 5pm, till I went home around 11:30...we just ate and talked...and lounged...I felt like doin' nothing but listening to tunes and layin' on his sofa...one leg slung over the side of couch...thinkin' and talkin'...a nice wind-down to the crazy stuff that went down.

Its 4:48pm, Sunday evening...I'm semi-hungover....ugh. I've got a lowkey, throbbing headache...and a cough...a plugged up ear...and my voice is as jaxed up as ever....still, I came out pretty good compared to one or two other people that we drank up with yesterday. You guys probably remember, Ryan, Jeremy, Jerome, Nelz, Matt, Lisa and I went snowboarding yesterday. Woke up at about 5am...even with those sleeping pills, I only got about 2 hours of sleep...I took about a third of a tablet at about 11:30pm...fell asleep at about 11:45 and woke up at 1:11am....I tossed and turned for about two and a half hours...I even went downstairs at about 2:30am to take another fourth of a sleeping tablet...but it just didn't work...I finally fell asleep at about 3:45am or so....
Snowboarding was really fun...and....I suddenly lost the desire to finish this....I want to lay down...on a couch.....a soft...couch....
